Fenkell, Chicago, died yesterday at his residence, 227 Seminary avenue. His parents were of English descent, and among the early settlers of the Western Reserve Ohio, where his family and that of the Garfields were neighbors and friends. Dr. Bliss, who attended President Garfield in his last illness, was Mr. Fenkell’s “best man” at his wedding with Hannah Howell, at Chagrin Falls, O., on April 20, 1845. Mrs. Fenkell survives her husband. They celebrated their golden wedding in 1895 at the residence of their daughter, Mrs. James Lane Allen, 4050 Grand boulevard. Mr. Fenkell moved to Waukegan, Ill., in 1852. For some years he resided at Nadeau, Mich., but for the last few years he lived in Chicago. He left tow living children, Mrs. James Lane Allen and Charles E. Fenkell, both of Chicago. The funeral will be private. The interment will be in the family cemetery at Waukegan.
