MRS. MARY C. FOSTER, 68 years old. died yesterday at, the residence of her, 
daughter, Mrs. Mary Manierre, 1401 Dearborn avenue. Mrs. Foster was born at 75 
Wabash avenue, on the banks of the river, and had lived in the city all her life. 
Orrington C. Foster, her husband, also survives her. Cyrenius Beers, her father, 
was one of the first settlers in Chicago, and was a member of the first city 
council and the first fire department. There are three children, George B. Foster, 
Mary S. Manierre, and Orrington C. Foster Jr. A sister, Mrs. A. Varner, resides at 
1337 Dearborn avenue. The funeral will be held on Saturday.
