MRS. IRVIN GAVIN 
Catherine Gavin, 73, widow of Irvin Gavin, died in Oak Park, Illinois, 
Wednesday following a short illness. Mrs. Gavin formerly lived at 622 B Ave., 
N E , Cedar Rapids. She made her home with her daughter, Betsy Gavin, in Oak 
Park the last 3 years. Surviving are 4 sons, Howard, Wichita Falls, Texas; 
Stuart, Downers Grove, Illinois; Charles, Encinitas, Calif., and Russell, 
Columbus, Ohio; 2 daughters, Betsy Gavin, Oak Park and Kathleen Hepker, 
Shawnee Mission, Kan.; 4 sisters, Margaret O'Brien, Flint, Mich.; Velnda 
Stingly and Cora O'Brien, Cedar Rapids and Mrs. Gay W. Argo, Belle Plaine; 24 
grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Services were Monday at 9:30 a.m. in 
Immaculate Conception church by the Very Rev. Msgr. Wm. A. Roach. Burial: St. 
Martin's cemetery, Cascade.
