SAN FRANCISCO, Cal., Dec. 20 -- [SPECIAL] - A steamer brings news of the death
of W. L. Green, for forty years a resident of the Hawaiian Islands.  Green was
three times a member of the Hawaiian Cabinet, the last time being on the
occasion of the overthrow of the Gibson regime in 1887, when he was intrusted
with the formation of a now Ministry.  Two years ago will heath compelled him to
resign his post as Minister of the Interior.  He was a native of London.
