Sgt. David Jenkins, Police Veteran of 27 Years, Dies 

David Jenkins, 54, Negro, of 1355 W. 108th pl., desk sergeant at the Wabash av. 
police station and a veteran of 27 years on the police force, suffered a fatal 
heart attack yesterday in his home. 

Jenkins' police career began when he returned as a veteran of World War I. He 
leaves his widow, Ethel, and a son, Lt. Garfield Jenkins, with the 99th fighter 
squadron at Lockbourne army air base, Columbus, 0hio.
