Raymond Raef, brother of John Raef of Arlington Heights, who was killed in actin in France July 28. Last word from Ray was received July 31. Pvt. Raef, whose home was in Mattoon, IL had been in the army three years. He went overseas six months ago, first reporting to England. It is believed he went to France with an ordnance evacuation company about the middle of July. The wire from the war department was received Sunday evening by Mr. and Mrs. John Raef, 800 East Euclid, Arlington Heights. Ray had been stationed with Russell twins of Arlington, both in England and in France.
