Mr. Schoppe had been in failing health for several months, was taken suddenly worse on Monday and passed away quietly the following afternoon. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. from St. Paul's church, with burial at Hillside cemetery. Mr. Schoppe was born in Deer Grove, April 27, 1868. He married Miss Amanda Horstman June 28, 1904, Louis Schoppe, born on a farm, had a hunkering for city life. Summers he helped his parents, but during the winters he found employment in the store of Kuchler & Schlerding. The first three weeks he worked for his board, alternating between the two partners. After he had served his apprenticeship as a store keeper, he formed a partnership with John Fink, of Lake Zurich, which was later dissolved when Louis' brother, Harry, acquired the interest of Mr. Fink. He was a member of St. Paul's church and of the brotherhood of that church.
