Chicago Daily Tribune - June 9, 1918
Mrs. Mary Stelk, mother of Judge Stelk of the Automobile court, died at the home 
of her daughter, Mrs. George Deckwerth, at 2854 West Twenty-third place, 
yesterday.  She was 75 years old.  Mrs. Stelk and her husband, who died in 1890, 
came to Chicago from Germany in 1871, about the month before the fire.  She was 
born in Germany, October 31, 1843, and was the mother of ten children, five of 
whom are dead.  The funeral will be held Tuesday and will be private.
