Hollywood Ave. in the Edgewater neighborhood of Chicago. This photo was taken abt 1984 or so. Margaret Jane Swartz was born near the Natural Bridge, Viginia, and lived in Maryland and Washington, D.C. in the early part of her life. She later worked as a waitress in Dallas and Chicago before settling down/retiring in Chicago. She was an antique collector and even owned an antique store called 'the Eagle's Nest' in Chicago. She admired her son-in-law Gerd Edwin Paul Kaess (1947-1972) for being so handsome. In 1988, she moved to San Antonio, Texas, where she remained for the remainder of her life. She lived in the Spanish Trace Apartments on 7226 Blanco Rd. in San Antonio, Texas. Her brother Francis Aubrey Swartz (1924-1996) and his wife Mary also lived in the same apartment complex. They would often visit each other. She was one of 11-13 Swartz siblings. Margaret was married 1st to Talmage Edward Dawson (1894-1974) and then to Norman Allen Langley (1905-1980). She said she married Talmage twice and divorced him twice. With Talmage, she had one daughter named Marie Ellen Dawson (1945-2012). She was married to Norman from about 1976-1980. She was present when he died. Margaret Jane Swartz told her family that she never finished grade school, but she was able to read and write.
