Bailey   Daniel Mickey   Daniel Mickey, son of James Mickey and Mary Hair, was born about 1812, probably in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania.  As a young child, he was taken by his parents to Adams County, Ohio, where they lived until 1831 when his father took up land in Lawrence County, Illinois, near Russellville.   Daniel was married in Crawford County, August 27, 1835, to Lavina E. Highsmith, daughter of Rev. Richard M. Highsmith and Sarah Spann. They lived near Russellville until the early 1840's when they settled near Canaan Church in southern Montgomery township, Crawford County. Daniel died on this farm November 23, 1876.  His widow died about 1898 near Flat Rock.   Miss Anna Montgomery of Flat Rock says she remembers "Aunt Viney Mickey" who attended the Canaan Church and that she sang very beautifully.  Daniel and Lavina are reputed to have had 19 children. Only the names of 14 are known to the compiler:   1.  John Addison Mickey, b. November 20, 1837; d. April 5, 1892.  He married Miranda E. Roberts of McLean County, Illinois.  They are buried in Price cemetery in Russellville.   2.  James H. Mickey, b. September 12, 1839; d. January 31, 1917.  He was married to Sarah Caroline Kent and in later life to Mrs. Scitha (Goodlink) Love and thirdly to Martha Frances McCarter.  He is also buried in Price cemetery in Russellville.   3.  Mary L. Mickey, b. November 20, 1841; d. March 19, 1860.  She married Newton Anderson Kent but died shortly after their marriage and was buried in Gaines cemetery near Heathsville, Illinois.   4.  William Redmon Mickey, b. November 21, 1842; d. December 26, 1878 in Humbolt, Illinois, and buried there.  He married Mary Jann Honn and had three daughters.   5.  Sarah Jane Mickey, b. about 1845; d. between 1873 and 1875.  She married William Horn and they lived in Coles County, Illinois for a while and then to Washington County, West Virginia.   6.  Leander Sharp Mickey, b. about 1846; d. about the time of World War I and buried in Sullivan, Indiana.  He married Sarah Seaney and secondly Mrs. Mahala (Simons) Allen.   7.  Rebecca Ellen Mickey, b. January 31, 1849; d. November 12, 1880. She first married Slemmons Edgington, son of William Edgington and Jane Johnson.  He died young and she then married J. N. Calvin.  She and her first husband are buried in Baker cemetery near Heathsville.   8.  Daniel Webster Mickey, b. October 9, 1851; d. June 16, 1917.  He was married to Sarah Adaline Little and they are buried in Wesley Chapel cemetery near Heathsville.   9.  Emma Mickey, b. about 1853; d. between 1870 and 1876; unmarried.   10.  Marjorie Ann Mickey, b. about 1856, d. between 1871 and 1876. she was married to John Kamplain.   11.  Richard Newton Mickey, b. June 25, 1857, d. March 31, 1927 and buried in Price cemetery, Russellville, Ill.  He married Katherine Alice Landreth and their son Emerson Mickey and daughter, Mrs. Belva Ford live in Robinson.   12.  Charles Mickey, b. 1860; d. March 11, 1878, unmarried.   13.  Ellis Mickey, b. 1862; d. 1865.   14.  Maranda Mickey, b. March 1863.  She died in St. Louis, Missouri. She married James Rush Kent and they had some children.  One married daughter is supposed to have lived in West Union, but I do not know her name nor have I been able to contact her, if still living.
