O. Palestine, was born May 18, 1824, in Essen, Province Hanover, Germany. He is a son of Climar Fulling, born 1802, in Germany; he died in Gibson County, Ind. He was a soldier in the old country, and was married there to Ellen Roea, who was born and died in the old country, and who was the mother of four children. Mr. Fulling went to school in Essen, Germany, and at the age of fifteen came to Palestine, where he stayed with Mr. F. Paull for about twelve years, and is now a well-to-do farmer, owning 353 acres of land. Mr. Fulling has been the architect of his own fortune and owes his success to his perseverance and hard work. He was married, in Crawford County, Ill., to Miss Samina McColpin, born August 24, 1826, in this county. She is the daughter of Abraham and Jemima (Higgins) McColpin, and is the mother of six children; four are now living, and their names are John T., born August 23, 1850; Mary E., born February 20, 1853; Sarah E., born August 8, 1855; and Henry A, born June 4, 1861. Mr. Fulling has been identified with the Democratic party, and he and his wife are members of the Presbyterian Church.
