HIGGINS, farmer, P. O. Russellville, born October 8, 1851, in this township. He is a grandson of Levi Higgins, who came here in an early day, when the dark forest was filled with wild beasts and still wilder men. His son, Jacob Higgins, was born in this county, where he was also married to Eliza Wesner, daughter of Henry Wesner, who is classed among the old pioneers. She was the mother of Albert N. and William H. Albert N. was born April 13, 1853; he died August 26, 1875, in this county; he was married to Amanda Pinkstaff. Our subject was educated in a country school; he was married, November, 16,1876, to Sarah A. Tobey, born March 3, 1860, in this county; she is a daughter of Allen G. and Lovina (Pullian) Tobey, and the mother of two children-Royal A., born November 28, 1877, and Walter L., born December 9, 1880. Mr. Higgins has a farm of 155 acres of good land. He and his wife are members of the Methodist Protestant Church. He is now filling the office of School Treasurer and is also Justice of the Peace.
