Obituary of Adam SHEARS, Crawford County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Adam Shears 9 May 1907, Palestine (IL) Reporter   The death of Adam Shears occurred Sunday, May 5, 1907, as the result of Bright's disease, he having been a sufferer for many months and unable to be out of the house for some six months past. He was born Nov. 26, 1828, in Hardy county, Virginia, thus being 78 years, 5 months and 9 days of age at the time of his death.  When five years old he removed with his parents to Ohio.  After living there for several years, he came to Illinois whee he has since made his home.  He was united in marriage to Miss Susannah Weck of Porterville, Ill., Sept. 4, 1867, who still survives him.  To this union five children were born, all of whom are still living, they being Mesdames ida Stout, Josephine Apple and Nettie Murphy and George Shears of Palestine and Mrs. Edith Groce of Linton.  One sister, Mrs. Wm.
