Only God had wisdom to devise enough of lyric beauty to express our mother. Her smile, her luminous eyes and gentle ways, and all her loveliness, were named in words of light by one above to be for us his parable of love. Addie Oleva Willard, daughter of Thomas and Pheba Lindley, was born May 2, 1865, near Annapolis, Illinois. She was united in marriage to J. H. Willard, May 4, 1887. This union was blessed with nine children: Harry, Charlie, and Frank of Long Beach, Calif., Arthur of Kankakee, Ill, Ira of Rayalty, Texas, Noah of Robinson, Mrs. Ruth Piersall of Annapolis, Mrs. Emma Eskew of Urbana, Ill, and Flora, who preceded her in death. Twenty-four grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, also five brothers and sisters; Charlie and Louden Lindley of near Annapolis, Allen, of Broadview, Montana, Mrs. Anna Shearer of Hollywood, Calif., and Mrs. Pearl Bassett of Annapolis. When a young girl, she united with the Friends church and was always true to its teachings. It can be truly said of Mother and Grandmother Willard "She looked well unto her household." After her 76th birthday, she left for her heavenly home, August 12, 1941. Funeral services were held Friday, August 15, at the Porterville church with Rev. Lee Guyer in charge. Burial was in the Mt.
