Death came as a deliverer of that awful disease, heart trouble and she longed for the day when she might be permitted to dwell with the redeemed. Funeral services will take place today from the home. We will give an obituary next week. Her grandfather Hunter Garrard and Uncle Heuse Garrard of Peoria and her brother Percy of Sullivan are all here, but her brother Rev. Garrard of Saginaw, Michigan, was prevented from being present on account of snow. OBITUARY: 2/25/1910 Bessie Belle Garrard , daughter of Mr. and Mrs.Aaron Garrard, was born at Palestine, Il., Jan 12 1886 and departed this life at the home of her parents Feb. 15., 1910 aged 24 years 1 month and 3 days. Bessie was in poor health all her life. This deprived her of many of the joys of this life and hindered her in her school work and other plans calculated to prepare one for greater usefulness. She accepted Christ as her Savior and united with the Christian Church of Palestine in 1902 under the ministry of W. A. Curtis and retained her faith unto the end. When her health permitted she was a faithful attendant at the house of God and one of the regrets of her last lingering illness was that she could not attend religious services. Two sisters ; Bessie Dell her twin sister, and Hattie May, preceded her to the other world. She leaves to mourn their loss father and mother; three brothers: Marion, pastor of the First Palestine, IIl., two sisters, Mrs. Ella Haskins, and Mrs. Minnie Goff both of Palestine, Ill, a grandfather, Mr. B. H. Garrard of Peoria Ill., with other friends and relatives. But our sorrow may be illumined with hope. Jesus said, " I am the resurrection and the life , he that believeth in me, tho he were dead, yet shall he live, and who ever liveth and believeth in me shall never die: John 11; 25-26. *************************************************************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
