Obituary of Charles Clark, Crawford County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Jim Admire Daily News (Robinson, Crawford Co., IL) March 12, 1937 Charles Clark, son of Richard and Mary Clark, was born in Ripley county, Ind., September 21, 1849 and departed this life February 12, 1937, aged 87 years. He was one of six children, five sons and one daughter. Two brothers, Ira and Robert, died in the service of their country during the Civil War. One brother, David Clark, and the only sister, Hannah, both lived and died in Iowa. His brother Richard M. Clark, preceded him in death some twelve years ago, in 1925. He was married to Miss Sarah Stantz in the year of 1878. To this union two sons, John G. and Thomas B. Clark, both of Oblong vicinity, were born. His wife and the mother of his two sons died January 18, 1897. He came to Illinois at about sixteen years of age with his father and stepmother.
