Willard Died Last Wednesday Night C. H. Willard died at his home in our city Wednesday night, after an illness of about two weeks. Mr. Willard had been in poor health for some time, his death being due to a complication of diseases. Charles Henry Willard was born in Hutsonville on April 4, 1848, and was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Willard. At the age of fifteen, he enlisted as a private soldier in Company E, 62nd Regiment Illinois Volunteer Infantry, and three years later was discharged at Little Rock, Ark. He then returned to his old home in Hutsonville, and engaged in the lumber business, being manager for some time of the McNutt lumber yard. About six years ago he removed with his family to our city and since then has held a similar position with H. E. Otey. On July 14, 1880, he was married to Edith Madora Truitt, who three weeks ago was laid to rest in the Hutsoville cemetery. Three children are left to mourn the great loss of mother and father: Miss Ruth and Frank Willard of our city and Charles Willard of Everett, Washington. Mr. Willard was a prominent member of the I. O. O. F. Modern American and the G. A. R. Funeral services were conducted at the home of our city under the auspices of the I. O. O. F. lodge.
