I'm just posting an Obit that was sent to me by Barbara Dix who is transcribing old news articles for the website. All known information about this obituary including dates, locations, and newspaper are posted here, if known. Dr. C. M. Lindley Dies. Dr. C. M. Lindley, born in Hutsonville on January 1st(?), 1832, died Wednesday morning at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Minnie Fields, at Princeton, Ind. Had Dr. Lindley lived until January first, he would have been ninety years old. Funeral services Friday at Brooklyn, Ind., where he had resided and practiced his profession for more than a half century. Dr. Lindley was eminent physician and a splendid surgeon, despite the fact that he had but one arm, having lost an arm by an accident while a boy at Hutsonville. He is said to have performed the first Caesarean operation west of the Alleghany mountains. When a boy he lived with his brother Owens until he was old enough to teach school. After teaching for a time he entered upon the practice of his profession and became eminently successful. He was also very successful financially, accumulating a snug fortune.
