Patton, was born in Palestine Feb. 16, 1840 died in Folsom, New Mexico, March 22, 1911. Age 71 years, 1 month, and 8 days. October 14th, 1869 he was married to Fannie B. Paull, daughter of Findley Paull of this place. To them were given five children: George P.; Charles F.; Glennie (daughter); T. Hayes and Herbert Patton. Cullen spent his boyhood years in his home in Palestine, attending the district school, and latter the Academy taught by Messers., Alexander and Bovell. Helping at leisure time with the farm work on his fathers farm. He then went to Charleston, Ill., where for two years or more was employed by Wilson Bros. At time of marriage they went to Robinson, Ill., to their new home that was ready for them. At this time he was depudy County Clerk, with his uncle, W. C. Wilson, where he remained for twelve years. He engaged in the grocery business several successive years in Robinson. In 1892 he moved with his family to Kansas City Mo., where since has been there home. During the last twelve years, he has been a constant but patient sufferer with Locomotor-ataxia which had made him unfit for business. The summers of 1906 and '08 he visited with relatives and friends here in his old home. We are glade and thankful to have had the opportunity to help to make him comfortable and happy. Last spring he went to Folsom, N. Mexico, to visit his sons, George and Charley, and remained all winter. His health seemingly improved, in some ways, he gained in weight and strength. March 22nd, suddenly the summons came, the long patient sufferer is at rest. His remains were brought to Kansas City for burial. He was laid by his son, Herbert Patton, that had preceeded him Feb. 23 1907. Cullen was a kind and loving husband, father , brother and friend. He leaves to mourn our loss a wife, three sons one daughter-in-law, two grand children, three brothers, fives sisters, with other relatives and many friends. M.
