Obituary of Dolly BAILIFF, Crawford County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Cindy McCachern Obituary of Dolly Bailiff Friday, 7 June 1963 On March 26, 1907, a baby girl came to bless the home of Charles and Rebecca Bailiff at ther farm home east of Pierceburg. Dolly was the name chosen for the oldest of three daughters. A few years later, Dolly was blessed with two little sisters, Sarah and Cora. Her entire life has been lived in and near her birthplace. Early in life she accepted Christ and strived to live within his will. On September 30, 1933, she was united in marriage to James W. Jordan. On January 13, 1936, their home was blessed with a little son, Roy Dean. On September 10, 1941, Jim, as he was known to his many friends, answered the call and went to be with Jesus, leaving his faithful and loving companion and little son. Through these many years, Dolly has been both mother and father to Roy Dean. She was preceded in death 11 years ago b her father, who had been so much comfort to her and Roy Dean. On May 6, 1963, she too, answered the call of her master, leaving to mourn her death her only son, Roy Dean Jordan, her daughter-in-law, Ireta, and two little grandsons, Roger and Russell, her mother, Rebecca Bishop and two sisters, Sarah Neeley and Cora Bailiff, and a lot of nieces and nephews, relatives and a host of friends and neighbors.
