Obituary of Mrs Ebenezer COOPER and Mrs Margaret Harbison, Crawford County, Illinois I have no connection to this family Death Twice Invades Home in a Day Mother and step mother in law of John Harbison of Cedarville die at his home Sat. With in a period of less that a day the angel of death twice visited of the home of Mr. John Harbison, who resides on the Clifton Pike, three miles from Cedarville . At ten o'clock Mr. Harbison's mother, Mrs. Margaret Harbison, an aged and prominent woman of that locality, passed away and at midnight of the same day his wife's step mother Mrs. Ebenezer Cooper of Indianapolis, answered the final summons. Mrs. Cooper was called to Cedarville by the critical illness of Mrs. Harbison. She arrived in Xenia Friday night and spent the night with her step-son, Mr. John Cooper and family. Sat. morning she was taken to Cedarville arriving at the Harbison home a few hours after Mrs. Harbison had passed away. Mrs. Cooper arrived in comparatively good health and during Sat. afternoon and evening assisted her daughter about the house and helped in making the arrangements of the funeral of Mrs. Harbison. A short time after retiring Mrs. Cooper suffered an attack of heart trouble, to which she had been subject for several years, and within an hour her spirit had taken its flight from it's earthly tenement. Mrs. Cooper was the step-mother of both Mrs. Harbison and Mr. John Cooper of Xenia and as she reared them from childhood, they both regarded her as a mother. To them and her other relatives her sudden death comes as a great shock. The deceased was of 65 years of age and was born and reared in Xenia. Her maiden name was Sarah Poland and she is a sister of Mr. Samuel Poland of this city. Mr. George Poland of Urbana, and Mrs. St. John of Cleveland are also brother and sister of the deceased. After her marriage to Ebenezer Cooper, she moved to Ill., and resided in that state ever since. In recent years she made her home with her daughter, Mrs. J. H. McConnell, of Indianapolis, who arrived in Xenia Monday morning in response to the sad news of her mother's sudden death. She also leaves two sons to mourn their loss Harry and Albert Cooper, bothof whom reside in Ill. A double funeral will take place at the Harbison home Tues. afternoon at 2 o'clock and both Mrs. Harbison and Mrs. Cooper will at the same time be consigned to their last resting places in Massie Creek cemetery. Rev. Mills Taylor of Cedarville R. P. Church will conduct the services.
