Obituary of Eliza Jane DANIELS, Crawford County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Crawford County Web Site Eliza Jane Daniels, daughter of Adam and Lucinda Daniels was born in Huntington, Indiana, Dec. 28, 1860 and departed this life at the home of her daughter, Mrs. A. A. Bales of Robinson, April 6, 1926, aged 65 years, 3 months and 8 days. She was united in marriage to Blakewell Clay Smith Aug.12, 1883. To this union was born three children, Roscoe Raymond of Hampshire, Ill., Flossie Magnolia Bales of Robinson, Ill., Elmer Joe Davis of Oblong, Ill. At an early age she united with the United Brethren Church at Grassy Hollow. Later transferred her membership to Kirk Chapel M. E. Church and when the Stoy M. E. Church was organized she transferred her membership there and was a faithful servant, always at her post until some 5 years ago when her health failed and she broke up her home to live with the children. Many people around Stoy especially will remember what a faithful Sunday School teacher she was. She was preceded in death by her Husband and three sisters, Mrs. Martha Whitmer, Mrs. Mary Morgan who died a few years a go and Margaret Rebecca who died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her departure her three children, five grandchildren, one brother, Albert Daniels of Eldorado, Kansas and many other relatives and a host of friends.
