I'm just posting an Obit that was sent to me by Barbara Dix who is transcribing old news articles for the website. Death  of  Flossie  Cox Flossie Mildred, third daughter of John and Lucinda Cox, came into this life on Sept. 6th, 1886, and passed into the greater life beyond Sunday evening, December 15th, 1912, aged 26 years, 3 months and 9 days. She grew to young woman hood and spent the major part of her life in her home community, finishing the public schools of Crawford County in the spring of of 1902, and later teaching several terms in the county. In 1910 she entered business college in Terre Haute, and after completing a course served in the capacity of stenographer for McCarty & Arnold, attorneys at Robinson, Ill. Early in 1912 she began declining in health and in May was compelled to leave the duties of the office and return home, where she lingered for some months, then passed to her long rest. During the pastorate of Elder B. R. Robinson, Flossie experienced the pardon of her sins and obeyed her Lord in the ordinance of his church, and her life, while it has gone out ere midday, has been consistent and Christian in its character. Besides her parents, she leaves two brothers, four sisters and many other relatives and a host of friends to mourn her departure. Her passing away was a happy moment as experienced by herself and as witnessed by those around her, and for her the joys of eternity and the future life had already begun ere she crossed the thres- hold from earth into heaven. Even now she is rejoicing with loved one's who have preceded us into the land that needs no sun, because of the presence of Jesus himself who is the light thereof. Funeral services were conducted Tuesday afternoon by Rev. T. J. Wheeler, her pastor, at the Hutsonville Baptist Church and interment followed in Hutsonville Cemetery. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations or persons.
