PATTON Former resident Of This County Succumbs to Sudden Illness in Colorado- 12-26-1926 The following account of the death of a former resident of this county is taken from a Puebelo, Colorado paper. He was a resident of Robinson, later going to Kansas and then later to Colorado: The many friends of George P. "Joe" Patton, one of the best know residents of the Boone District, will be grieved to learn of his sudden death, which occurred at an early hour Sunday morning at the home of his brother, C. F. Patton of Pueblo. Deceased was stricken with a fatal heart attack about 4:30 Sunday morning and died a few minutes later. "Joe" Patton, as his legion of friends knew him was connected with the Thatcher Land and Cattle company for the past 17 years, holding various responsible positions with the company. For about the past 12 years, he has been manager of the company's ranch at Boone. His honest, straight forwardness won for him the respect of employers and employees alike and his Christian fellowship made him beloved by his many friends of Pueblo and vicinity.. He was a member of Pueblo Lodge, B. P. O..Elks No.. 90, and Modern Woodman of America of Kansas City, Mo. He is survived by two brothers, C. F. Patton, Pueblo, and T. H. Patton , Portland Ore.. The body, accompanied by his brother was forwarded Sunday night by T. G. McCarthy and Sons to Kansas City for interment in the family plot.
