Obituary of Henry Holaday, Crawford County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Jim Admire UNCLE HENRY HOLADAY PASSES AWAY After the life of almost 80 years, years full of usefullness and kindness to his fellowmen, Uncle Henry Holaday  has left the haunts of men and gone into the great beyond. He died in the same family home where he has lived his life except for three years spent in California. He married Miss Abigail Prevo in 1855.  To them were born 10 children, of whom 4 survive : viz, Wiliam and Mrs. Albert Johnson of West York, Usher of Terre Haute and Mrs. Lizzie Cullop of Coal City Indiana. In 1881 he married Mrs. Nancy Carter who survives him. The tribute of Uncle Henry's friends is that he was an honest man and a faithful friend. Can any higher tribute be paid to his memory? He provided for his family and in his last days was able to live an easy life  He was my friend; and it is with sadness that I think of him as having passed from among men where his life was an inspiration to every young man that knew him. The funeral was preached by Rev. Layton and the remains of the old father and friend now rest in the Lindley Cemetery. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations or persons.
