Obituary of Isaac Marksbury Brown, Crawford County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern  From Robinson (IL) Argus, 15 July 1908    An Old Pioneer Gone  Another One of the Early Settlers Passes To the Great Beyond    Isaac Marksbury Brown died last Wednesday, July 8th, at the ripe old age of 79 years, 7 months and 11 days. Mr. Brown was born in Putnam county, Ind., Sept. 25, 1828, and moved to this county and State in 1832, when the country was new and thinly settled.  He was married to Lydia Staum, in 1855, at New Hebron, who survives him.  Himself and wife were members of the U. B. church, and were charter members of the class in this city. Mr. Brown spent all his life in the occupation of farming in which he was very successful.  A few years ago he retired and removed to the city to pass the declining years of his life. He leaves beside his wife, two brothers, William and John, four sons, Ben F., Ellis N. Chas. E., and Isaac Marion and six grandchildren to mourn his loss. Funeral services were conducted at the U. B. church Thursday afternoon by Rev. W. H.
