JOHN ARMSTRONG DEATH John Armstrong of Morea died Wednesday afternoon about 4 o'clock. He was a well-to-do and highly respected farmer, residing near the little burg Morea, died at his home Wed. afternoon about 4 o'clock. He has been in poor health for sometime but it comes as a great surprise to his friends who live at a distance at least when the word came over the phone that he was dead. Mr. Armstrong is a very fine man and was known all over the country as an ideal farmer. He came from Ohio some 15 or 20 years ago and purchased the R. C. Sheddan farm on which he died. He served his country in the Civil War, He leaves a wife and one son Frank who also resides near Morea, to mourn their loss. The funeral was held today at 11:00 AM at the residence, conducted by Rev. O.L. Markman. Interment in the Palestine Cemetery. Wabash Pearl March 25,1910 OBITUARY: Wabash Pearl 4/1/1910 John W. Armstrong was born in Jackson Township, Seneca County Ohio , Feb. 16th 1839 He enlisted in co. K. 101 Ohio Infantry, at Tiffin, Ohio on August 14th, 1862, mustered out of the service June 20th 1865, making his term of service in the Civil War 2 years 10 months and 16 days, During his term of service in the war he was taken prisoner at or near Chickamauga about the 19th day of Sept 1863 and not released until sometime in Feb. 1865. Seventeen and on half months of his service were spent in Andersonville prison and other prisons of like character. Married to Sarah A. Feasel of his home community on Feb. 5th 1867. To them were born two children of whom O. F. alone is living. He moved to his late home in Morea, where he has ever since resided enjoying the confidence and well merited respect of his numerous friends and acquaintances. Died March 23rd 1910 at his home aged 71 years, 1 month and 7 days. He is survived by his deeply sorrowing wife, one son O. F.
