AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT J.F.Guyer Died of Injuries Tuesday Evening                                                           J. Franklin Guyer, near 67 years of age, was killed as a result of the over turning of an automobile which he was driving Tuesday afternoon about three o'clock. Mr. Guyer, with his son Arthur, 32 years old, was driving from his home near T. J. Kennedys to Hutsonville to get some repairs for his lawn mower. At the time of the accident he was driving east on the road south of the coal docks, there being two well defined tracks in the road. The car was on the south track, and for some reason he evidently decided to switch to the other track. He was going at high rate of speed in a 1919 Essex touring car, and when the front wheel climbed the shoulder Mr. Guyer failed to straighten up the car and it turned entirely over, lighting again on the wheels throwing his son Arthur clear of the car, and leaving the driver sitting at the wheel. Arthur sustained a compound fracture of the collar bone and some bruises. Mr. Guyer showed evidence of his head having struck the ground but did not believe himself seriously injured. A passer by came along and picked up the injured men and brought them to Dr. Voorheis office. When they arrived at Hutsonville he did not think his own injuries were worthy of attention, but requested the doctor to dress his son's wounds and remained in the car for awhile. He was finally induced to go into the office for attention to his injuries. By this time he began to weaken some and required assistants in moving. Dr. Voorheis dressed a scalp wound on the side of his head. He soon complained of a sharp pain in his head and the Doctor noticed indications of inter cranial hemorrage. He became unconscious almost immediately and death resulted about seven o'clock at the home of Edward Dry, where he had been taken after his wounds were dressed. The son is doing nicely and is able to be up and around. -------------------------- Following is the obituary of Franklin Guyer, which was read at the furneral yesterday.
