This obituary was read "on the air" on the local Robinson radio
station (WTAY I think) during a program called "Memorial Time".
I have no connection to the families mentioned in this
obituary.

May 18, 1983

A former Palestine resident, Joe W. Curtis, age 66, of
Champaign, died early this (Wednesday) morning in Karl
Hospital, Urbana.  He is survived by his wife, Inez Goodwin
Curtis; by one son, Joe Alan Curtis, with the Marine Corp in
Jacksonville, North Carolina; one daughter, Dorothy Waters, at
Gunter Air Force Base, Alabama; by three grandchildren; and one
brother, Charles Curtis of Plainfield, Indiana.

Funeral services for Joe W. Curtis of Champaign, formerly of
Palestine, will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday in University
Place Christian Church, Champaign, with Reverends Raphael H.
Miller, Jr., Karen Martin and James Holiman officiating.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 P.M. Monday in the
Robinson New Cemetery in Robinson.  Friends may call at the
Mittendorf Funeral Chapel in Champaign during the hours from 2
until 4 P.M. Sunday, where Masonic rites will be held at 4:00
P.M.
