OCIE KNOBLETT SHOT Ocie Knoblett age 25, who lived with his father, Jack Knoblett 4 miles north of here was shot last Saturday night by his brother-in-law Henry York. Ocie with his father and brother Orvie, a boy of 13 and Henry York were coon hunting in the woods, about one half mile from the Knoblett home. They had not gone far into the woods until the dog treed a coon and Ocie climbed the tree while York, who carried a rifle walked several yards away that he might get a better view, and when he turned to look for the coon he caught a glimpse of Ocie's head and supposing it to be the animal for which he was looking fired and to his horror Ocie fell to the ground dead. When York found what he had done he was completely overcome and lay unconscious for several hours. The coroner was called who empaneled a jury and an inquest was held which resulted in a verdict of accidental shooting, relieving York of any charge of murder. Funeral services were held Monday at 11:A. M. at Oak Grove church, Rev. Jesse C. Stoner officiating and the burial at the Oak Grove Church.
