Obituary of Lucy Alice QUICK, 1937, Crawford County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Elayne Newspaper and Date Unknown Lucy Alice Quick Early Saturday morning, July 24, 1837, after Aunt Lucy had finished her household duties and was among her flowers, her faithful daughter in law Bertha made her usual morning call. Aunt Lucy was stricken and God called her home to rest about three hours later. She was the daughter of Matthias and Sarah Ann Ridenour, born April 15, 1860 in Kirk Chapel vicinity where she spent her entire life. She was the youngest of a family of nine children all of whom have preceded her in death except an aged sister Sarah Vining of Beaver City, Nebraska. She was united in marriage to Josiah W. Quick December 2, 1883, who preceded her in death May 23, 1917. To this union six children were born: Mrs. Ethel M. Musgrave, Isaac Irl, Frank R., Mrs. Mary A. Hartleroad, Addie E. and Mrs. Nellie M. Tracy all of whom survive except Addie E. who died January 22, 1897, at the age of two years. She leaves to mourn her death besides her children, twenty grand children, 10 great-grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends. She is one who will be missed greatly by all who knew her. Words that we speak today cannot do her justice, only those who knew her intimately can appreciate the beauty and cheerfulness of her life. Note: Daughter in Law Bertha is the wife of Isaac Irl. ***************************************************************** USGENWEB NOTICE: In keeping with our policy of providing free information on the Internet, data may be used by non-commercial entities, as long as this message remains on all copied material.
