Obituary of Martha Ann Guyer, Crawford County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Jim Admire Note: I have no connection to this family. I'm just posting an Obit that was sent to me by Barbara Dix who is transcribing old news articles for the website. Martha Ann Guyer Martha Ann, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Life was born, Nov.2 1887. Most of her life being spent in Crawford County, and where she grew to womanhood. On a bright and beautiful spring time day she became the bride of Charles Alfred Guyer. At an early age she united with the Presbyterian Church and was a faithful, active and consistent Christian. Mattie, as she was familiarly called, was stricken with ill health some two years ago and, of late, was an intense sufferer, but patiently and cheerfuly striving that she might administer love and care to her family that only a mother can give. Alas, at God's will Mattie at the age of 36 years, 4 months and 13 days, on July 24th crossed the tranquil river of death to meet the loved ones gone on before and to dwell with Jesus for-ever-more. The subject was of a cheerful disposition and was loved  by all whom she came in contact with. The kind acts, tears of sympathy, the beautiful floral tributes were a symbol of love and high esteem to one  who will not only leave a sense of loneliness to those to whom she was bound by family ties but also to the community and friends, the S. S. and church of which she was a devoted member. Her life was not lived in vain. She leaves to morn her untimely departure, husband, 4 daughters, 2 sons, 3 brothers, 2 sisters, a father, and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the home last Thursday afternoon conducted by Rev. H. B. Shoaff and the remains were placed to rest in the ----. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- USGENWEB NOTICE: These electronic pages may NOT be reproduced in any format for profit or presentation by other organizations or persons.
