Obituary of Martha Crow EVANS, Crawford County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Cindy McCachern Obituary of Martha Crow Evans Martha Crow Evans, 92, Robinson, died about 11:04 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 1998, at Crawford Memorial Hospital, Robinson. Born July 4, 1905, near West Union, she was the daughter of Ben Crow and Laura Buckner Crow. She was a homemaker and farmed near Porterville, in Crawford County. She attended the First Christian Church, Robinson. She was a 50-year member of West Union Chapter #776, Order of the Eastern Star, and a member of the James Halstead Sr. and Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. On April 16, 1931, she married Ellis D. Evans, who preceded her in death on Oct. 28, 1963. Preceding her in death were her parents; three sisters, Irene Cline, Lenore Prust and Mary Wernz; and a niece, Eleanor Kearns. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Jim Nestleroad, Martinsville; three grandsons, James, John and Matthew Nestleroad; two granddaughters-in-law, Malinda and Diane; two great-grandchildren, Sydnie and Collin; a sister, Margaret Miller, living on the homeplace near West Union; two sisters-in-law, Mary Evans Griswald and Florence Evans Ubaudi, Robinson; a niece, Jean Prust Cooney, western Springs; and several great-nieces and nephews, caregivers and friends. The funeral is 1 p.m. Sunday, March 1, at Prust-Hosch Funeral Chapel, West Union, with Rev. Tom Akers officiating. Burial is in Marshall Cemetery. Visitation is after 4 p.m. Saturday and before services Sunday.
