Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Mikeworth Memmaw York, Crawford County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Margaret Elizabeth Mikeworth  Mewmaw York   27 February 1918, Robinson (IL) Argus   Margaret Elizabeth Mikeworth was born May 2, 1849; age 68 years, 8 months and 29 days.  Was married October 29, 1866 to Ambrose Booten Mewmaw, and to this union were born three children, Martha Artimetia, Mary Elizabeth, and Everett.   Mr. Mewmaw died January 2, 1873 and the oldest little daughter in February 25, 1873, age 6 years and 8 months.   In October 25, 1873, she was married to Elder York.  To this union were born, sons, namely, David E. York, James A. York, Lester B. York, Luther S. York and daughters, namely, Lilly May York, Ross A York, Elnora York, Susan C. York, and a little daughter dying in infancy. Of the mother's children, four daughters have preceded her in death, leaving five sons, three daughters, and one step-son, John Calvin York and two brothers and two sisters and a host of relatives and friends to mourn her departure.  She was converted some 28 years ago and was one of the charter members of the Bible Chapel Christian church.  She leaves a light of a true Christian mother to beckon the loved ones home.   The home has lost a loving mother The church a loyal member The community one of its patriotic citizens The funeral services conducted by Rev. S.
