Obituary of Morton LINDLEY, Crawford County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Morton Lindley Hutsonville (IL) Herald, 3 January 1908 Morton Lindley died Monday at his home near West York, aged 63 years, 9 months and 25 days. He was born March 5, 1844 in the house now owned by John Seigle and was the son of John and Mary J. Lindley. Oct 26, 1865, he was married to Rhoda Ann Bailiff and to this union were born five children, Emma, who died in infancy, C. B. Lindley, Essa Mount, Delia Butler, and Lula Evans. With the exception of three years spent in Texas, he has resided continuously in this county. For over thirty years he was afflicted with an abcess, yet he bore his sufferings cheerfully. He is survived by his wife and four children, four brothers--Cyrus, living northwest of town, Alfred of California, Thomas of Texas, and John of West York.
