I have no connection to anyone listed herein or no further information about them. NANCY ANN PATTON Nancy Ann Patton, daughter of Dr. Mrs. E. L. Patton , passed away at the home of the Patton sisters on West Grand Prairie street Saturday morning May 10th, 1930. Death came in a residence which is diagonally across the street from her place of birth. She was born Nov. 13th, 1843 in a house formerly on the property now occupied by Miss Lucy McGahey. The Pattons have occupied three homes at these street intersections, on the southwest corner and the southeast corner and the present residence of the Patton sisters on the north west corner. Miss Nancy Patton attended the Palestine public schools and the Palestine Academy, later attending a "select" school in Indianapolis. She taught school in the community for several years and eventually established a millinery business in Olney for a period of about 25 years. She also conducted a millinery store in Palestine for a number of years. In 1859 she identified herself with the Presbyterian Church, taking part in its activities , teaching Sunday School classes and devoting much of her time and effort to religious matters. She took particular interest in the Missionary Society and was a member of the W. C. T. U. The day preceding her death the W. C. T. U. held a meeting at the home of the Patton sisters. Miss Nancy Patton, while not well, was present and she passed to her reward shortly before 3 o'clock the following morning. Despite infirmities and impaired health over a period of years her disposition, to the end , was radiantly cheerful. Miss Nancy Patton was one of 12 children born to Dr. and Mrs. E. L. Patton. Of this large family she is survived by four sisters and one brother; Martha J., Mary E., Emily J., Carroll E. and Hanna May. The funeral services was conducted at the home by Rev. M. E. Prather.
