Obituary of Rufus Rosco SIMPSON, Crawford County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Crawford County Web Site I have no connection to this family. RUFUS ROSCO SIMPSON Rufus Rosco Simpson was born in Crawford County, Ill. Oct 1, 1889 and died at the home of his mother in Palestine, Aug. 27, 1910 aged 20 years 10 months and 26 days. For the past three and one half years Rosco has been working in Terre Haute. Some six weeks ago he came home ill and was soon confined to his bed with typhoid fever, and not withstanding all that medical skill and loved ones could do the brittle cord of life gave way and he passed to the great beyond. His death seems all the more sad because of the sudden death of his father only a few months before. At the time of his death he was a member of the improved Order of Red Men Tammany Tribe #39, Terre Haute. He is survived by a sorrowing mother; five sisters, Mrs. Anna Black, Mrs. May Richey, Mrs. Huntus Rosebolt, Mrs Myrtle Tyson, and Glee; three brothers, Samuel, Ralleigh, and Earl, besides other relatives and friends. The funeral was conducted at the Methodist Church Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock by Rev. Markman. The local tribe of the Improved Order of Red Men with several members from neighboring tribes attended in a body and had charge of the service at the grave.
