Judge John W. Steers, another of our old and well known citizens, passed away on
Wednesday last, at his home in Licking township where he had resided some forty
years, with the exception of the past few years when he resided a part of the
time with a son in Jasper county.  The deceased was about 75 years old, and had
been one of our most prominent citizens, having served a term as Judge of the
county court from 1854 to 1857.
