Obituary of Samuel LINDSAY, Crawford County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Crawford County Web Site SAMUEL LINDSAY DIED Uncle Samuel Lindsay who resided in the south part of Montgomery Township near the county line had a stoke of paralysis last week which resulted in his death last Monday. He was one of the very best men in the country and was about 83 years old, therefore being one of the old pioneers of Crawford Co. He is survived by sons Scott, Alonzo, Amos, Bruce, Firman, Elmer, and William; also by daughters Mrs. Purcella Lewis of Chicago and Mrs. Luella Allison who with her husband resides on the home place. Rev. William A. Pinkstaff of Flat Rock preached the funeral and interment was made in the Ford Cemetery. A large concourse of relatives and friends payed their last tribute of respect to the time honored deceased whose kind and congenial spirit and disposition at all times made and kept friends.
