Obituary of Susannah York Correll, Crawford County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 2000 Cindy McCachern Obituary of Susannah York Correll   28 July 1916, Hutsonville (IL) Herald   Susannah York, daughter of John and Martha E. York, was born near Grand Prairie church, Crawford county, Illinois, July 28, 1828 and departed this life July 19, 1916, at the age of 88 years, 11 months, and 20 days.  She was one of a fmaily of 12 children, only three of which are living, two brothers, Benjamin and Elder York and one sister, Mrs. Alfred Correll.   She was united in the holy bonds of matrimony to Thomas Correll on May 23, 1850.  To this union were born ten children--Albert N., Orlan N., Matilda E., Sophia I., Celestia J., Charles M., Minnie B., Ira H., John A., and William W.  Five of whom are still living, viz, Albert, Orlan and Allen Correll, and Minnie Lowe, who reside in this community and Charles Correll of Yarbroa, Arkansas.  These, together with sixteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends are left to mourn her departure.   The husband and father preceded her in death twenty-two years.   The deceased was well known, highly respected and loved by all who knew her.   She was a charter member of the first church organized in this neighborhood, which was in the winter of 1871 at the school house under the control of the United Brethren denomination.  This church was discontinued in 1874.  In 1880 she and her husband were among the charter members of the present church which was organized by Rev. John R.
