This obituary was read "on the air" on the local Robinson radio
station (WTAY I think) during a program called "Memorial Time".
I have no connection to the families mentioned in this
obituary.

October 14, 1979

Mr. Wendell L. Piper, age 55, of R. #3, Robinson, died Friday
evening in a farm accident.  He had served as past master of
the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge #348; was a member of the Danville
Scottish Rites Consistory; member of the Ainad Temple East St.
Louis; was a member of the Swords of Bunker Hill,
Lawrenceville; and had served in offices as President and
Treasurer of the Flat Rock Lions Club.  He is survived by his
wife, Pauline; by one daughter, Mrs. Barry (Gayle) Kite of R.
#2 Flat Rock; one grandson, Brian; one sister, Wanda McElyea;
one brother, Bob Piper; and a half-sister, June Peterson, all
of West Frankfort; and a half-brother, Alfred Peterson of
Highland, Illinois.

Funeral services for Wendell L. Piper of Route #3, Robinson,
will be held at 2 P.M. Sunday in the Goodwine-Bond Funeral Home
in Flat Rock with Brother Mike Davis officiating, along with
Masonic Services conducted by the Flat Rock Masonic Lodge.
Burial will be Jones Cemetery.  Friends may call today at the
funeral home in Flat Rock from 4 to 9 P.M.
