Cox, died at his home west of Hutsonville yesterday morning aged 82 years, 4 months, and 12 days.  A few weeks ago he suffered a light stroke of paralysis and since that time has been able to get about but little.  He was taken sick this week and his death was peaceful, being conscious to the end.   Mr. Cox was born in North Carolina, Jan. 14, 1828, and at the age of 16 years, was brought to Crawford county with his parents, Bryant and Martha Bradbury Cox.  At an early age, he began farming, first renting a farm of eighty acres on Lamotte prairie where he resided until 1854, when he removed to his farm west of town and where he has since resided. He was married March 12, 1854 to Nancy Ann Dawson, a native of Clark county and who was born Feb. 26, 1831.  To this union were born four children, all of whom survive, being Henry W. Cox of Texas, Martha, wife of Harlan Newlin, Ella, wife of Geo. W. Cox and Amanda, wife of Henry Lowe, all residing in this community.   He was an industrous man, a practical farmer, a kind, indulgent father and a good neighbor.  He was a member of the Church of Christ and no man made an effort to live a life consistent with the teachings of the scriptures more than did Mr. Cox.   Funeral services will be held this (Friday) afternoon at 2 o'clock at the home, conducted by Elder A.
