Marriage of CHARLEY & McCLAFLIN, Crawford County, Illinois This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: Crawford County Web Site The marriage of Miss Bessie Charley, of Oaktown, Indiana, and Mr. Alva McClaflin, also of that place, but until a year ago a Crawford County boy, occurred at the Church of Christ in Oaktown, Sunday night, Elder Stivers, Pastor of the church officiated. Mrs. Mc Claflin is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. G. B. Charley of Oaktown, and has resided there all of her life where she is very popular with a large circle of friends and acquaintances. Mr. Mc Claflin is a son of Mr. & Mrs. Henry McClaflin who resides about 4 miles south of Palestine and is favorably known here, having been employed by G. Casselmann for several months at one time in the latter’s tin shop. He later removed to Flat Rock where he opened a shop of his own and about Jan. 1, 1906 removed to Oaktown where he embarked in business for himself and has remained since. The young couple arrived here Monday and visited at the home of the groom’s parents , returning home Tuesday where they will begin housekee! ping at once. The bride is a niece of Mrs. G. L. Griffin of this city .
