Will of Robert Baird
In Crawford county, IL Probate file box # 7, case # 15 and transcribed into Crawford
county, IL, Wills 
Book 2, page 213
In the name of God Amen I Robert Baird in the county of Crawford and State of
Illinois of the age of fifty 
four years and being of sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my
last will and 
testament in manner following that is to say
First I give and bequeath to my wife Elizabeth all that tract of parcel of Land
Situate in the county and 
state aforesaid to wit Location No (231) Two hundred and thirty one T[ownship] 5
[North] R[ange] 10 
West; Together with all the hereditements and appertenances thereunto belonging or
in anywise 
appurtaining to have and to hold the premises above described so long as my said
wife shall remain my 
widow To be accepted and posseded by her in lieu of dower
And after the death of my said wif[e] or when she ceases to remain my widow I devise
the above 
premises afore described to my legal heirs, share and share alike.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this Eleventh day of October
In the year of our 
Lord one thousand Eight Hundred and seventy three.

The foregoing instrument of one sheet was at the date thereof signed, sealed,
published and declared 
by the said Robert Baird as and for his last will and testament in presence of us
who at his request and 
in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as
witnesses thereto the 
above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof declared to us by
Robert Baird the 
testator therein mentioned to be his last will and testament and he at the same time
acknowledged to 
us and each of us that he had signed and sealed the same and we therefore at his
request and in his 
presence and in the presence of each other signed our names thereto as attesting
witnesses.
