Here by my last will in writing bearing date September 23 1857 and have here set fourth the previtions of this will and I do by these writing bequeath unto my beloved wife after my funeral expenses is [paid] and all my [debts] paid I give unto my Beloved wife fourliange (?) track or parsel of land during her natural life to wit the North quarter of the South hafe of Section Twenty three in Township North of Range fourteen west containg eighty acres to Have and to hold during her natural life and after her decease it is my last will that my Beloved son Wm and Betsy and Mary and Joseph and Jane and Susan have one Dollar each, and after the death of my beloved wife, I bequeth unto my beloved daughter Lydia and my beloved son Washington all the proprey that may remain to be equal divided between them two. In Witness where unto I Joseph Jackson of the above will do this day set my hand & seal September 23 AD 1857. In preasance of Witnesses John McCrory [seal] his James Matheny [seal] mark Writ Reubin Matheny State of Illinois Crawford County Sess. Personally appeared in open court to wit at the February Term of the County Court of said County of Crawford State of Illinois AD 1858 John McCrory, James Matheny, & Reuben Matheny who being suly sworn according to law deposith & states that they were present by request of Joseph Jackson late of said Crawford County deceased and heard him said Jackson acknowledge the will & testament hereto attached to be his act & deed and he Jackson then & there declared the same to be his last will & testament and that they and each of them believe the said Joseph Jackson to be of sound mind and memory at the time of acknowling the same and that they and each of them attested said Will & testament in the preasance of said testator and by direction Reuben Matheny his James Matheny mark John McCrory Sworn and Subscribed to in open Court this 4th day of February AD 1858.
