 The agitator.: (Wellsborough, Tioga County, Pa.): January 14, 1863
In Sycamore, DeKalb county, Ill., on the 5th day of August last, Amasa Thompson,
aged 85 years. Mr. Thompson had taken an active part in behalf of his country, prior
to emigrating to this county, having served in the war of 1812 as Captain, doing
himself much honor. In 1816 he emigrated to Tioga county from Schoharie, N. Y., and
settled in the township of Middlebury, where he remained until 1843, when he removed
to Sycamore, Ill., where he resided until his death.
