Bible Record for John and Gilly (Ray) Byerly

 John Byerly (son of Phillip and Mary [Brals] Byerly) and Gilly Ray (daughter of 
Thomas and Elizabeth [Pearce] Ray) were married in Randolph Co., NC, and came to
Shelby 
Co., IN, in the early 1820s. They bought an 80-acre farm in 1822 and lived in Shelby
County 
until 1852, when they sold their farm to Samuel Nail and moved to DeWitt Co., IL. 
 
The title of the Bible is “The New Testament of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, 
translated out of the Original Greek, and with the Former Translations Diligently
Compared 
and Revised,” New York American Bible Society, Instituted in the Year MDCCCXVI,
1843.
