Silas Johnson, his father, came to Illinois in 1825 and settled in Vermillion county, and moved to De Witt county in 1838. Silas Johnson married Elizabeth Craig, of Virginia. He married Lydia M. Hurley, February 24, 1842. Two children have been born to Elias and Lydia M. Johnson. Mary E. is the wife of John McDonald. They have two children named Zua and Oddie. Both Mr. and Mrs. Johnson are members of the M.E. Church.
