On Monday night last Henry Johnson, of Clinton, Illinois, died at the Cambria County Almshouse. The deceased was a colored man, the victim of an accident while trying to board a moving freight train at Lilly's last Thursday, but who failed in the attempt and had one of his feet crushed so badly as to necessitate amputation. After his removal to the institution named another operation was found necessary at a point higher up on the limb, but the shock to his system was too great, and he only survived until the time stated. He was about twenty-five years of age, and has a mother still living in Clinton. Nothing further in relation to his history or antecedents was made known. He was tramping eastward when the fatal attempt to get on the train was made. The remains were interred in the Almshouse burying ground yesterday. Additional Comments: I am not related to the deceased and have no further information about him or his family.
