Obituary of Mrs. Lucy Jane SUTTON, DeWitt County, Illinois Contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives Copyright 1999 Earliene Kaelin Name of Deceased: Mrs. Lucy Jane SUTTON Name of Newspaper: Clinton Register Date of Newspaper: November 1949 Obituary: Sutton: Mrs. Lucy Jane SUTTON, 86, 1035 East Main Street, died at 4:25 a.m. Monday in the John Warner Hospital, where she had been a medical patient about a month. She was born in Ohio, October 26, 1851, a daughter of Charles P. and Susanna (NEGALLY) TOBERT, and moved to Dewitt County, settling in Harp Township with her parents, when a small child. she was married in this county to George R. SUTTON, December 4, 1873. He died September 26,1913. Mrs. SUTTON had lived in Clinton since 1902, when she moved to town from the farm. She is survived by three sons, Thomas D. SUTTON, of Agar, S.D.; Fred C. SUTTON, Sarasota, Florida, and Otto SUTTON, of Chicago. She has two sisters Mrs. TALBOTT, of Hillsboro, ND. and Mrs. Ola LEMON of Los Angeles, Calif., nineteen grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. She was a member of the Clinton Methodist Episcopal Church. The body will be at the home Wednesday morning. Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday in the M.E. church in charge of Rev. J.R. FORD pastor.
